On the contrary...

I may be the ugly duckling here, but I like my service with Verizon. For me, choosing a network is all about coverage because I travel nationwide for my business. They have 3G coverage almost everywhere, where other companies like T-Mobile and AT&T struggle to even provide EDGE or GPRS enough to even make a phone call, let alone use data-driven services. My bill could be less, sure, but I don't mind paying it given the coverage quality and reliability I get. And hey, everything could ALWAYS be cheaper. My mortgage, for example?

I haven't had too many dealings with customer service, because I rarely have to call. My bill is always timely and accurate (so far, knock on wood...). The few instances I do have to call, I get great support from friendly reps. They've never seemed hurried to get me off the phone and if they don't know the answer to my question, they find it. If it's expected to take some time to answer, they call me back instead of making me wait on hold.

I haven't had Verizon but for the last 6 months and I can honestly say (no, this is not a paid testimonial) I haven't had any better service from any of the other 4 big carriers... and I've had them all. They're constantly improving their already superior network and coverage, as referenced above.

No other carrier can give me the coverage I need, the phone I want, the price that's fair (not AMAZING, but fair), and the bill that's predictable EVERY month like they have. And I can see where my money goes: the network. Next year they're launching their version of 4G: LTE (long term evolution). I already get great speeds on my Droid with 3G.. so much so that I don't even bother using wifi at my house. Knowing it's going to get faster and faster, and coverage greater and greater, what else do I need?

I'm sorry for those of you, including the site owner, who have had problems. I hate hearing about stuff like that, especially when my experience has been nothing but the contrary. I'm a power user... used almost 2 gigs of data transfer this month on my phone and I still have a week and a half to go. I use roughly 1100 minutes and usually over 5,000 text messages and a few hundred picture messages. No other network has EVER been able to support that kind of heavy usage from me in all corners of the country and everywhere in between like Verizon has.

Are they perfect? Not at all. I've had a couple hickups and dead spots like everyone else. But they're minimal and far between, even for my high standards... especially when compared with all the other carriers in the US.

In all honesty, I'd rate Verizon a 9 out of 10 in overall customer satisfaction. But hey, that's the world we live in... we've got all this great technology that nobody would have even dreamed of 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago, and we're still not happy. Check out the video on you tube "Everything's amazing and nobody's happy" - that's what I'm getting at.

I'm trying as I'm typing this to remember the exact reason I had to call them the two or three times that I have... and I can't even remember what the calls were for. I think one was to verify my contract dates and upgrade dates, but that isn't even a PROBLEM.. that was my own inquiry. Nothing needing fixed.

Ah, well... I just wanted to take the time to voice my experience. We're all as a society so quick to bitch and complain when something isn't perfect, but not so quick to commend great service and appreciate what we have. So that was my goal here today.

Verizon, if you're reading this, I'd take a 10% credit off my bill next month for all this praise! ;) But really, I mean what I've said without any credit or compensation from them.
