Verizon Charging me $1300 for a line that never made a call

I had a line of service connected so that I could receive incoming calls from my work for a job that I do from the desk in my bedroom from 10:00 am- 12:00am (midnight)Thursday-Monday. This line never made outgoing calls, however every time I received my bill there were hundreds of dollars in outgoing long distance charges. These charges occur at times when I do not work mostly on days when I do not work usually when I am sleeping in the room with the only phone hooked up to this line. I have called Verizon numerous time and been told they would send the charges back or they would credit me or they would send a tech to fix the issue. That has not happened and I was forced to cancel the line and stop working from home. These Charges now total $1259.60 and they keep sending me bills all the while telling me that they are trying to fix the problem. I suspect that these calls are being made by a Dr’s Office because they are all made between 7:30 am and 5:30 PM Monday-Friday and there are certain weekdays like Presidents Day where no calls were made. And when I go through the numbers that are listed on the bill looking them up I find several pharmacies in other towns. All I want is for Verizon to take the money I have given them for the service that I wanted provided and drop the charges for these calls I did not make.

Sounds like you have what they call an LIC, phone speak for (Left in connect). Which means that, when you had the line installed the technician was supposed to go to the locatin where the cable pair they re-used for your line was last working and disconnect it from the terminal on the pole.
Sounds like that was never done. So when the dial tone was activated it was working in two locations.

The other location has no idea that the line they are using is not theirs.
