How Verizon treats long time customers

I've been w/Verizon about 10 years. Lately I upgraded to a more expensive plan w/a phone that I liked (Casio Brigade). It turns out that Casio's bluetooth isn't compatible with Toyota cars, so I wanted to return it for an even more expensive model (so it's to Verizon's advantage, right?). However, b/c I cut up the box to send in the rebate, Verizon refuses to take the phone back. They won't even explore options. They simply are saying "tough luck." So I'm stuck with a phone that doesn't work for me.

Verizon makes no profit on the phones, only the service. They lose a lot of money for you to return a used phone as they can't re-sell it. Did you check with toyota before? All cars have a list of compatible devices. For some reason car manufacturers can't make bluetooh universal.

Why is it verizon's fault when you had the toyota first?
