How difficult is adding 2 more land lines?

I been calling their Customer FXXXing center to order 2 addtional lines. I been calling them for 4 days, 2 hours each day, 5 transfers per call and still not getting to the RIGHT department.

I wonder what the fuck terrorists are aiming for.

Fuck the Verizon PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Your neighborhood probably has a very old copper wire network. I can't picture fiber being a problem per say since that plant is new and based much more on equipment.

I've heard stories of Verizon being a decade behind in routine copper wire plant replacement. My guess is the bulk of their budgets are going for fiber repair & installs.

Keep after them, let them know you don't want FIOS or the contract that comes along with that.

I am a former Verizon tech. First off, Verizon will not replace old outdated copper facilities if it does'nt have to. It will replace small sections of worn/defective/damaged cable but not spend tens of thousands of dollars on outdated technology. So, if you live on a street that no longer has enough "spare" lines you have to wait for a verizon tech to repair defective lines so they can be used again for new service or to add a line to your house. The easiest way to explain it would be like this: The cable that you see attached to the pole on your street is like a water main with lots of individual hoses within it.If all the good hoses are being used to bring "water" to other homes and all that are left are defective hoses with leaks in them they can't be re-used to supply water intill they are fixed. And in some cases it takes some time to do this. You don't bring your car to a body shop after an accident and expect it to be returned to you that same night do you?? It takes time. So be patient. I will tell you this though.....DON'T believe what the repair rep on the phone tells you........they have no clue what the problem is. In fact most don't know anything about how the phone lines work at all. They will telllyou whatever it takes to calm you down........or rile you up.
