I hate VERIZON SO much...

I don't even know where to begin. When I moved into a new house in Aug. 2009, the ONLY phone and internet service that was available was Verizon so I begrudgingly left Time Warner Cable and signed up for Verizon. I was just a week away from my wedding, and ultimately had to take almost 4 ENTIRE DAYS off work waiting for installation to show up, and each and every time they never came. I spent HOURS on the phone with reps who would claim I never signed up for the service, then they would say the rep came by the house but I wasn't home, then they claimed the rep. was never able to find my house!!!! It was the most miserable experience EVER. Everything eventually got installed two weeks later.
About a year after that I was being inundated with flyers re: FIOS. My husband hated our Verizon internet and said it was so slow so I decided to appease him and order FIOS. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE!!!!
Again, I fought for weeks with reps who would never call me back. They claimed Fios wasn't available at my house despite my next door neighbor having Fios and I indicated if it wasn't available why did they keep sending me letters and flyers. They eventually figured out they had my address wrong in their system and set me up for an install. Again, took a day off work and luckily this time the installer came the first time and supposedly set up my system. Less than a week later my cable shut down and claimed it was overheating. My DVR wouldn't work so I had to call customer service again. They sent a service tech out about a week later and claimed to have fixed the issue by turning down my signal strength. Just a week later, the box again overheated and this time it took them three weeks to send a tech out to replace the box completely. At least I finally got smart enough to refuse to take time off work and I forced them to come on saturdays.
Now here is the clincher. After the original Verizon was cancelled and I got Fios I contiued to receive bills from Verizon Communications, which I paid every month automatically through my bank.
This morning I woke up to find my cable, phone, and internet disconnected. When I called to discuss the issue with the billing dept. they claimed I hadn't ever paid a bill. I showed them all my paid bills through my bank and they said that I had been accidentally been paying for my previous service and never paid for Verizon FIOS. I told them they were VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS, and I was paying VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS so they could go to hell. Ultimately, I was being charged double...for the old cancelled service and for the Fios service, and was NEVER sent a bill for the Fios service!!!!!!
I hate these people so Much !!!!!
I am currently on hold (have been on hold for over 30 minutes) trying to get my money back.
If there was any other provider in my area I would switch immediately!

Billing seems to becoming a bigger issue with Verizon daily. Verizon has centralized alot of offices over the decades at this point. What were local offices before the break up slowy went from local to district to regional combined call centers/billing offices. Throw in computerized automation you're doubled screwed. I'm suprised the union hasn't pushed this issue harder to save office jobs.

Make sure you have the people at verizon remove any marks against your credit. We had a similar billing issue with Verizon, and they assured me they would notify the credit agencies that it was resolved and it would not affect my credit. 2 years later I find out that it is still on my credit after it was a verizon billing error, and it took my credit down 39 points!!! Verizon SUCKS!

(1) NEVER try to "solve" anything with verizon by chat or phone.

(2) ALWAYS communicate with verizon with a typed, paper letter. Should they call back to discuss inform them you will only communicate by written letter and hang up.

Otherwise you'll get the by the book line "Agent YZ was not authorized to _____" and insert whatever deal/arranged made.


When you finally are tired of being burned take you stack of PAPER communication to small claims court. When verizon rep fails to show you win by default.



Too much abuse file a "formal complaint" with your [insert state here] public utility commission.
