Verizon suddenly decided my phone was a stolen one

I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for about 4 years, and i was relatively content with the service. I activated a brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge less than a year ago at a Verizon store and they gave me a new SIM card, the phone was bought legitimately through Amazon from a third party seller with excellent ratings (100%) and I used the phone without any notable problems until suddenly, literally in the middle of the night Verizon blocked my service (with full billing of course) reporting me my phone was reported stolen. No amount of chat, calls or even visits to the store that activated this phone to begin with would resolve this and pretty much everyone talked down to me as i was some sort of criminal, never mind that i provided all the information required to identify myself as the account owner, even going as far as confirming my social security number which for some crazy reason is required to be provided to some random kid working at phone store to start a wireless phone service (wtf?). It was not until i mentioned to report them to the FTC that they actually looked into this problem and realized someone somewhere simply decided to report my SIM card (not the phone, but the SIM card the Verizon store provided) as stolen with as little info as just the phone number. This means anyone can report any number stolen and Verizon won't even verify the claim or make sure the phone number is associated with the user reporting it, and it will put you through hell just so they can correct their own error. There is no place for a company with such a huge security liability in God's green world and who gives fuck-all to paying customers and treats them as common criminals once they blocked the wrong account.
