HATE, HATE, HATE Verizon "Customer Service"

Being a senior we need to save all the $$ that we can and we don't spend that much time on the phone anyway. We have had a prepay plan ($5.00 per month)for years and now Verizon has phased it out. When looking to upgrade our "device" I was pretty sure that it would cancel my prepay plan so I called to see what they had to say. Two (2) agents assured me--after repeated fretting--that my plan would not be disturbed. So I open the dang box and start the activation and SURPRISE no can do unless you upgrade your plan...it's at least $40.00. What a company...they can't even train their agents to know a simple fact like that...seems pretty basic to me. I would like to take that open box and the phone to one of their stores and cram it you know where 'cuz I'm not using it now.
