Rip-off and bad service = Verizon Nightmare

So, I dropped my phone like a numbskull. I went to Verizon to get a new one, but found out they could not transfer my contacts into a new phone. Apparently, the Verizon "back up" plan for your numbers had been phased out, and you needed to set all of that up on Gmail. When did that happen??? So, they sell me a $550 phone and tell me to call their "tech wiz" and they should be able to help. There are NO techs or anyone who can help you with your plan at the store anymore. The employees can only sell you a phone or set up a new account. So, that burden has been switched to the customers...but it certainly didn't lower my bill all that extra work I have to do calling their customer service and being put on hold. Get home with the phone call the tech department, and they tell me they can't help me (even though the employee in the store assured me they would). I had had Verizon for over 15 years, and I've thought of switching. I just didn't want to have to go through the process. Well, this one broke the camel's back so to speak. I returned the phone to them, canceled my plan, and had my number ported over to Straight Talk. There I paid $129 for my phone and a $55 unlimited plan (versus the $120 I paid Verizon). Every time I had to see them the customer service got worse and worse...and they finally managed to get rid of me!
