I have verizon with a passion!!!

My verizon nightmare started two months ago when I thought I would call their customer service to try and save a few bucks.. I ended up being misinformed of the services then my phone & internet service was closed "accidentally" when I tried to get it straightened out.. had to wait 5 days for them to establish a new account then they billed me for setting up that new account that they shut down in the first place... i was promised a $10 credit a month for 12 months and I've been going round and round just trying to get what was promised to me!

The 10 dollar month credit is in effect a payoff or bribe which allows them not to admit to screwing up. On the official record it will look like you initiated a disconnect and then a reconnect/new service.

That's why they didn't give the lump sum or correct the old mistake. In Verizon's poorly trained employee/fool the regulator world it's easier to officially cancel the old and initiate a new connect. Some will actually get credit for signing up a "new" customer. They are covering up they could NOT fix an existing problem
