FIRST! DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO ANY VERIZON SERVICE!i am determined to post this story on every site i can find (1 a day for the rest of my life)about the piss poor service from verizon. over 2 weeks ago i noticed my home phone had static instead of a dial tone. called verizon for service. spent 10 minutes jumping the hoops of the automated bitch voice of verizon. finally had a repair date set- in SEVEN DAYS! after repair, phone worked not even a day. now i had no dial tone AND no internet connection! called and jumped thru same hoops. scheduled service date- another 8 days. still have not seen repair truck. very sad about the state of this country. i already purchased wireless broadband device and am using it to post this. i am cancelling all verizon services immediately.

If it's DSL or copper plant it sounds like you have a problem that is getting wet and drying out. The tech cameout and tested no trouble they felt worth chasing so either arbitrarily swithched lines/cable pr or closed your ticket as found ok or reset.

Verizon copper wire has been neglected for decades by techs and management in the name of overtime, productivity and budgets. Doesn't help you.

I'd call them again and if a new tech visit is not within a reasonable period of time irregardless of strike and I would file complaints with your state utility regulators and the FCC. The strike is Verizon's problem, not yours.
