We called Verizon 3 months ago to make changes to our bill to lower it. We removed phone service and a couple of premium channels. I always pay my bill on line and for the next two months did so on time. The bill was substantially lower but that's what we wanted so I didn't think too much about it. Last week I received a bill in the mail saying I was past due $575 dollars! A few days later than shut of my service. That was when I dealt with the worst people and customer service of my life!! I called them and all they kept doing was transferring me to someone else. What they had done is separated the land line I had cancelled to another account which is what I had been paying online. So really I just owed the difference of what I had already paid and the bill for internet/tv. (which I shouldn't have to pay for the phone I cancelled but whatever I'll let that go). I spent 3 HOURS on the phone with these people!!! When I finally got someone who understood the situation and THEIR mistake, they would transfer me to someone else and I would have to explain it ALL OVER AGAIN!!! It was the most frustrating experience of my life. At the end of this 3 hour ordeal I was left in tears and nothing was accomplished. My husband spent another 1 1/2 on the phone with them that night and after the same "transfer" of responsibility it was finally fixed....or so I thought. I went to pay my bill on line and it says I have a credit of HUNDREDS of $$$!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The trouble is with the union here. You see, one department is not allowed to handle another departments issues like billing etc.It's called 'crossing crafts', that's why you get transfered all over hell. I know, I worked for them for over 20 years. If you are a tech you can't even check the oil in your truck before you leave the company garage in the morning. If you do the union steward is all over you. It's the mechanics job to check the oil NOT the technicians.
