verizon lies

i am an honest woman with limited income. my daughter was having trouble with her blackberry for the 4th time and her dad said she could switch to his sprint plan and get a new phone. we walked into the local verizon store and inquired about how much it would cost for her to leave verizon and switch to sprint. the sales person told us not to worry about it that all she had to do was take her phone to sprint and they would port her number over. we looked at her incredulously and said really? and she again repeated yes, they will port your number over no problem... so we went about doing that believing the verizon representitive that there would be no early termination fee. We even showed her we had a check to pay any fees and she said it was no problem. well, the bill came next month with a $250 early termination fee. i was upset and went back to the verizon store. the manager said he was sorry that it happened and would get me a refund. cool, no problem. next month, same fee. went back to the store, the mananger didn't quite remember all the details but tried again to get me a refund. this time he could only give me a $115 refund and not the full amount. ok, i'm not as happy, but its something. a week later, my phone is shut off for delinquent payment. i am on the phone 2 hours trying to get it straight and explain the store manager got me a refund. no such refund in the system but they at least turn my phone on. i go back to the store again, explain a third time what transpired. the manager promises he will call tomorrow and get me a refund and return my call. no phone call, no follow up. i go in to pay my bill and pay $200 to keep my phone on. four days later, on my birthday, my phone is suspended again... i make another $168 payment and finally just give up fighting because i need my phone. they have you over a barrel and they know it. they lied to me, they cheated me, they lied some more. i am very discouraged and as soon as my contract is up, i am no longer a customer.
