new charges every time

i had switched to comcast about 4 months back. i paid off all the bills. i month later i got another bill for $300. Very shocked, i called verizon about transfered 10 times they said its your dsl and phone. i argued but she did really listen, i decided to just pay the bill but she couldn't accept the cc payment since i was no longer a customer. so i sent them the check. after 2 months later i got another bill of $60 for dsl. i called verizon, 10 minuetes later i got someone. the rep was purposally wispering intead of talking. then he started talking really loud and mean. she said oh i see notes that your service should have been cancelled but it didn't. then he said oh actually i can't do anything anymore. it has been sent to collection. after asking for supervisor many times he connected me to somone after about 5 minutes. she put me on hold for another 10 minutes. she said she can't do anything. then she gaive me credit for 29 dollars and said thats the best i can do. then i asked to just pay the bill. she xtered me to collection. i called on tuesday at 11am. the recording said please call during business hours. what should i do? i feel like getting a attory because i will be apply for a mortgage loan but my credit score has gone down. is there anything we can do?
