I just wanted what I paid for

So, in August (2011) I paid full-price for a Motorola Droid Pro from Verizon. In October (two months later) the metal piece that you plug the charger into came out and the phone would no longer charge. So I went to the Verizon wireless store in Georgetown, KY to see what they could do. The reps in there said "oh no problem" we will put in the order to get you a new phone since it is under warranty. and in the meantime we will give you this 2002 flip phone with none of your contacts to use for the 3-5 business days." Awesome. When I received my "new phone" it was actually a refurbished phone. When I took this phone back to the store that is when it got ugly. I wanted to know why I wasn't told that the "new phone" was actually a refurbished phone. I really felt screwed because now I had just paid full price for a refurbished phone. To which the only response I got was "it is written in the disclosures on your contract that after 14 days you are only entitled to a refurbished phone" Who reads every word - and if you do remembers every word - of a cell phone disclosure. I would think that if verizon wants to give "world class customer service" they would maybe have mentioned that to their CUSTOMER WHO PAYS THEIR BILL ON TIME EVERY MONTH when I first came in. So I called "customer service" to ask for either A. a new phone B. a credit for the cost of a refurbished phone since I just bought it and a credit for the data usage that I have not been able to use now for two weeks but am paying their new ridiculous rates for. After three days and 8 horrible conversations with "world class customer services reps" I have to bend over and accept the refurbished phone with no credits to my account. F###k you Verizon. As soon as I get through the no-budge two-year agreement with you, I will be leaving your low-class company for a carrier that deserves and APPRECIATES my business.

I totally agree... Verizon sold me such a POS Droid that it was not even usable after just 4 months... Of course the warranty replacement is someone else's messed up device and is broken within 3 weeks... This goes on for 8 months until finally I build up the nerve to ask the customer service representative in a Seattle call center for a new phone. He says, "Sir, I respect the way you called in and respectfully stated your request for a new phone. You made my job easy because you found a solution on your own." The rep discounted my new phone 100% (G'zOne Commando btw...super excited!). Verizon Call Centers can do practically anything if you know what to say and how to say it...check out this guide before calling: http://notpc.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-call-Verizon-Wireless-customer-service
