Oh, that's not fixed yet?!

Verizon customer disservice reps must be trained to act like uninformed idiots one second and the smartest person in the world the next. A construction crew accidentally ripped down my fios line (it was hanging lower than I think it should have). I called to notify verizon and got an 8am - 5 pm appt to sit around waiting for a guy who eventually showed up after 5 pm to run a temporary line. He vowed that it would be reinstalled/buried within the same week. After that didn't happen, I called and told one of the verizanazis how the temporary line running across several neighboring yards, a driveway, and down the street does not meet my threshold for being fixed; I get the endless explanation about how different sections do different tasks so I will have to schedule to have it buried. Now that it is buried, I have had to schedule to have it connected. I'm waiting to be told I have to schedule to do yet another person's job. Are we really in such a bad economic state that these a**holes can do such a substandard job and still be employed? This problem started a week before Thanksgiving and still is not sorted out on December 9th. If I was a new customer, I'm sure they would have rushed to get me connected to the verizon teat with a bill for services in my hand like a security blanket.

Unless there is an out of service trouble ticket on your situatio Verizon will not care. That is the only deadline they worry about-no dialtone no service reports. And even then they want to do the minimum amount just close that ticket/trouble report as to appease the regulators.
