Day 111 of non-stop VZ problems

Verizon problems were at least manageable before we moved in August.

Today, 111 days after we've moved, we STILL don't have a working set-top box--after FOUR replacements, FIVE tech visits, over 40 hours on the phone with their NON-support, equally as many individual phone calls, and innumerable tweets and posts on Facebook.

I am SO VERY FRUSTRATED with the level of incompetence. Why is there no legal recourse for customers? Hell, I'd just settle for working service!

Apparently, that's too much to ask.

When we first signed up for Fios over six years ago, it took THREE YEARS to get the bill right (because they promised gift cards and free dvr and on and on... but wouldn't honor that).

Every member of management I got that WOULD/DID help, would mysteriously disappear (no lie--phone #'s that no longer existed, e.g.)--how weird is that?

This time--same thing. Found a great local tech who'd gave us her personal phone #, was very accommodating and helpful--guest what? For weeks, she didn't return calls, then her voicemail said she'd been "reassigned." Go figure.

Anyway, here I am 111 days after having to move my service and NO ONE's helping. I'm so frustrated I wanna take their fkn set-top box and smash it, but then they'd charge $845 like they did when one of their techs didn't check-in our old box!

Luckily, that's straightened out, but if I can't have one of the services I'm paying for, then I want a refund. Immediately.

Sure, I could switch to someone else--but who? The only other choices are satellite (which absolutely blows chunks) or Comcast (whose customer 'service' is on par w/Verizon but their actual services are WORSE). So, which hell is acceptable--and, again, WHY is any of this acceptable for us consumers?

I would report these problems along with the appropiate documentation including names, dates and service order or trouble ticket numbers to the state utility regulators and the FCC.

Unfortunetly alot of services that come with FIOS are considered 'optional' and not a worry for many regulators. In this day and age phone and internet along with basic tv should be considered a necessity.

From a business standpoint this type of service stinks. It won't do much except document it but I'd report their lousy service to the Better Business Bureau.

As far as the tech giving you their 'personal phone number' many business employees give their private line/numbers as to hold down repeat trouble reports-it's not out of the goodness of their heart. It's so they have a chance to fix the problem before it becomes a reportable documented problem. She might very well have been a sharp honest tech but you see how much she or the company cares now that she has been transferred.

Comcast or someone else awaits!

Just a note****the BBB DOES NOT handle complaints about utilities that are regulated........You need to contact the FCC, PUC or whatever your states utility agency is called.

The BBB can't force a resolution the way a utility regulator can but it does help document the problems with a company/provider and helps a consumer vet a company when shopping for service.
