NO c/s acct access 12p.m.-5 a.m.; 24 hr wait just to call forward

I had a simple need--to forward my phone number. I have the forwarding ability as part of my freedom essentials/verizon FIOS package that I am already paying an INSANE $230+ for per month (phone/cellphone/high-speed internet/cable TV). But for $230 plus, when I called after midnight last night to forward the phone, I was told there is no way for them to access my account between midnight and 5 a.m. AT ALL. What kind of company has a 5-hour window without account access????!!! But, ok, I figured I'd call this a.m. I was told the feature was available to me, but not "turned on" for me, so she put in a request and within an hour it would be completed. So over an hour later when it wasn't forwarded yet, I called back and was told it's a 24-hour delay, so I can't get it forwarded until some point tomorrow. THE PHONE COMPANY CANNOT FORWARD MY PHONE!! C'mon folks, get real. Can't wait to get rid of you and your stinky service. I'm going to magic jack plus, direct tv, and time warner cable--will end up being less than half the cost of this current theft. I'm sure they'd say they the other companies aren't as good, but how the heck could they be any WORSE?! Don't be fooled by the name, they are so big they don't know what they're doing, and they're computer systems are so archaic that they can't even get done what needs to be done. No wonder they overcharge. And yes, per the other posts, there are TONS of charges that almost double the original total a salesperson quotes me for the package. I am so nauseated with them. Funny how Time Warner cable quoted as a cost for high speed internet, and our first bill was within $5 of what was quoted--with ALL taxes and everything. What a novel idea. (We had an internet service overlap between the two companies so we wouldn't be stuck w/out service, but as soon as the phone forwarding gets fixed, I'll be kissing goodbye the cable and internet, and the phone shortly thereafter... what Verizon doesn't know is that this is forwarding to my magic jack plus just so I can test it a day or two first. (Or maybe they somehow DO know b/c of the forwarding phone # I gave them, and that's why I've having such a difficult time...) Scary thought!! I am just STEAMING mad at them!!! Thanks for this forum to vent.

Can't you forward you # from you phone without calling????????? You used to be able to do this on your own
