Their Fault but I PAY!!

I had set up payment plans with Verizon when I lost my job. I made the mistake of giving them post dated checks (2). Their inadequacies never cease to amaze me. I received my vacation pay early so I went to a Verizon store and paid the 1st payment early. (Thinking "This was a good thing"). at that time I told them that they had a post dated check but this is to satisfy that so make sure you do not put the check your holding through". The store "yes man" got on the phone for what seemed like forever and came back telling me it was all taken care of! Guess what?...you guessed it! they put through the check anyway. This caused all kinds of problems, but they admitted it was their fault but could do nothing about it. The second one was put through with the wrong check routing number, which I finally got the person's name and an apology from the employee, only to find out when I went to make my regularly scheduled payment 3 weeks later, I had been put on a "cash only" status. Of course I was furious and spoke with a store person, customer service, credit dept clerk, her manager and then his manager. All of them telling me one by one that they were sorry for the trouble this has caused, but there is nothing they can do and it must stay that way for 6 months. So I guess because they are the great and powerful "VerizaRape" (love the name) they can do whatever they want. But I wonder how it would work if I did this to them?...Exactly! Verizon is the poster child for "Corporate Too Big to Care Bureaucracy?" I think so. It will only be till they loose a good portion of the market share, THEN they will they be forced to be humbled to do "post" customer service care. I do hope that will be the case someday. Signed, "An Unhappy but contracted Verizon Customer."

I know exactly what you are going thru. I had the same problem. I too am still under contract and may either break it or just wait till it expires then go some where else.
