I couldn't take being a CSR

I spent three months working for a Verizon wireless call center before I couldn't take it anymore and had to leave. The stress and guilt of being forced to constantly frustrate already irritated customers and deny them money that they had been cheated out of by lying salespeople was just too much. I can't tell you how many times I encountered people who haven't been properly informed of mandatory month in advance charges, calling plan changes that took away their unlimited data packages (which in turn caused them to rack up huge data overage charges), or were just plain lied to by supervisors who promised to call them back later. Verizon will willingly let people bury themselves in debt to their company, and it's wrong-wrong-wrong!

It's a tough economy out there right now, but that's no excuse to become part of the problem just to help yourself out. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's right.
