Worse than lies...

It is one thing to be tied to a contract that is explained as being "somewhat flexible" and quite another to find out that this vague description is wholly untrue. Verizon has no problem switching phone contract end dates to different phones/numbers on a family plan to "assist you the best we can in getting a new or replacement phone." But when it comes to changing those same dates so that you can drop a phone/number when it is no longer needed... it suddenly becomes "not possible." It has nothing to do with the phone or number and everything to do with fleecing the customer for every last penny. I have four phones/numbers on a family plan and one I need to drop because of non-usage by a family member. Even though I told Verizon that three of the phones will still be used for more than two years, and two were now on month-to-month charges, they would not swith the remainer of the contract to another phone/number! Even though they had no problem doing that to get me into a new phone and new 2-yr contract! There is some illegality because that is basically a type of malfeasance through undue influence[sic]. I am forced into not being able to drop something that is unusable and the penalty is prohibitive as well. It is truly sickening.
