Until you've experienced some issues with verizon or any other carrier for that matter, you'd never really understand the frustration that customers go through in trying to reverse errors (or even the good reps. who try to repair the errors). I went to 2 spots for some facts. MSN had an article exposing some of the companies with the poorest customer service ratings. While Sprint was at the top of the list, Verizon was not too far behind.
I also went to JDPower and Associates. While its customer service was not rated, its cost of service was mediocre. I will admit, verizon is an award recipient from them, but that doesn't mean they have perfect or excellent service...therefore, problems exist and people do experience the problems. Verizon, for me, has the best coverage of all services..they also have among the most costly phone plans available (according to many customers and also according to JB Power and Associates). No company is perfect, but that's no excuse for poor customer service.
