Here's what happens when you move your service

Here is what happens when you move your service. My fiance and I moved from one part of Pennsylvania to a larger city. The Verizon bill at the time was out cellphone, the regular house phone and dsl service. I called them and they said the service would be moved b4 we were officially moved in which sounded great. My fiance and I could use our cellphones for a few days at our current house not very frequently though.
When moving day arrived we hooked up the equipment in our new place and nothing worked. Called Verizon (with my cellphone) and they said that the service should be working. The service obviously wasn't. Looked around the rental house and noticed that there was no NID. For people that don't know it's the box from the house to the poll. Anyway how could verizon set up service without the NID even being there. I called and they said they turned on the service at the wrong location and they would have to send a technician out. They did-- 4 days later and he finally repaired the issue. After resolving that issue it still took them 4 weeks altogether. Also, my bills after that have been huge and they threaten to cut off my service considering now I dont have the money to pay the massive overage charges from using my cellphone for the time that I had no LAN line service.
