Service tecnitians are terrible too!

The back up battery went dead in my fios box. The verizon store said to ask a service tecnitian when I see them in the neighborhood and they would swap it out no problem. On 3 ocassions I stopped to ask a service tecnitian in my neighborhood if they would replace my battery. Each ine told me they would come by as soon as they finished what they were doing. One wasn't even on a call, he was getting a gift of bread from a neighboe and said he would be right over and never showed up. Today I talked to one that was working right next door to my house and after 2 hours he just drove away. I even had the battery out of my box and waiting. These guys are all inconsiderate loosers! I lost many hours waiting for them to show up. I didn't call in a service call because I didn't want to be stuck at home all day waiting for them to show up. I hate verizon. I won't even go into my experience with my cell phone. I'm just glad my contract expired on my cell phones and I am on no contract with FIOS. Now I can ditch verizon forever! Loosers!

You get charged for the replacement. Maybe nobody wanted to put their job on the line for a stranger. I can't say I blame them. If you took the time to call in you would have received a new battery in the mail. You chose to use unconventional channels and lost. Too bad so sad.

Verizon Wireless store employee knows about Verizon FIOS landline policies?

I will say the procedures or ways to properly get a new FIOS battery should be spelled out by Verizon. There should alternative methods.

This is one reason I use Comcast. Their cable set up is much less complex on the premises than FIOS. Customer service is a big problem with Verizon and will only get worse. Before it was screw the copper wire customers but now it will be screw the FIOS customer because they truely want to seperate wireless and landline for profitability/stock reasons. That means a potential sell off of anything landline.
