Stolen phone, suspended service, and expired contract. STILL RECEIVED A BILL.

I called Verizon in early April to suspend my stolen phone. I explained that I wanted to continue being billed until my contract end date, (April 22, two weeks away) so that my contract would expire. I informed the rep that when my contract expired, I would no longer be continuing service. The Verizon rep said no problem. I just received a bill for the month following my contract end date: $33 for a month's worth of suspended service on a stolen phone past the contract date. I contacted Verizon's customer service phone system, which is set to automatically hang up on the customer if they no longer have a valid Verizon phone number (2#$#%#@???) I just spent the last twenty minutes chatting with a Verizon rep online who insists that I owe the bill. RIDICULOUS.

Let's go back to tin cans and string.
