Liar Liar!!!!

Here is a transcript of a conversation I had with a Verizon Rep as I was thinking of upgrading my daughter's phone as a Christmas Gift...Needless to say the end result was I was told I would be "Given" the phone for free, but was billed for it a month later...

Me: Good. I just added a line last week, and now am upgrading one of my other phones. I have to pay the $30 upgrade fee again???

Shannia: There is a $30 upgrade fee for any phone when you upgrade it. What phone are you upgrading to?

Me: Iphone 5s

Shannia: That is a great choice! I just got that phone last week and I absolutely love it, you can do everything on this phone and I got a case with it I absolutely love! I dropped my phone in the bathtub while I was bathing my puppy and the case protected my phone:) I was so happy when I pulled my phone out of the water and it still worked!

Me: Yes, I will get her a life protect case too, IF I can afford it after all the fees you guys charge!

Shannia: There will only be a upgrade fee. The phone will be free on our part today:)

Me: Really? You are going to upgrade my phone from the 4 to 5s for free?

Shannia: I sure can:)

Me: You are AWESOME!

Shannia: Aww well thank you! :) So are you for being the best part of Verizon Wireless!

Me: So what do I need to do?

Shannia: You will just need to add the phone to your cart and then let me know when you have it added:)

Me: done

Shannia: Okay great, so now when you go to the check out make sure you push upgrade device.

Me: I am at the checkout in the Review section

Me: It shows $199.99 for phone, $30 Upgrade fee...

Shannia: Okay great so just proceed with the check out and be sure to give me the conformation number so I can put the order through the rest of the way. That is the price of the phone normally.
