They just don't give a shit

I had Verizon Wireless for about 10 years. Was always happy. Abruptly, in the 1st qtr. of 2014, voice bars almost disappeared on both household devices while downstairs in my home. Upstairs was kind of okay, but downstairs service sucked. Repeated complaint phone calls to them finalized with them offering me a Samsung Network Extender at $250+tax my cost. I got them down to $175+tax and begrudingly agreed to have them ship one out and pay $188.99 for this thing.

One or two days later I was diagnosed with a rare form of malignant melanoma for which surgery had to be performed soon. I am almost 65 so my world was spinning. The surgery was scheduled and performed within 2-3 weeks and everything medically was okay. Except for this network extender which did not accomplish what I wanted.

A week after my surgery I took the item back to the local VZW store to have it returned and taken off my account. No dice: I had exceeded a never-disclosed-to-me 14-day return period by about 10 days, most of which were surgery & post-op days. They just did not give a shit. At the store they called their call center for me. Their call center, after 45 minutes talking & on hold, returned with their final solution: keep the useless device and they'll knock another $50 off my account. Needless to say I did not hold back with them, I told them, loud enough for everyone in the store to hear, and switched to T-Mobile across the street within an hour.

Verizon Wireless can kiss my ass. I am using my real name and city, Come after me you VZ bastards if you dare. The truth is the ultimate defense.
