Simple Charger Purchase

I was at the local Verizon store last evening, to purchase a charger. A tops 5 minute task.

I wait around for someone to assist me, finally I get to see someone (10 minutes) to check out. I inform the staff member I am eligible for a discount on the accessory. He looks up my account and confirms. I check out, look at my bill and realize he did not give me the discount. I point this out, and he tells me I will need to come back tomorrow because he needs a manager override. Seriously? It's a $20 item. I need to go back to the store for $5. It's not worth my time and I am sure Verizon knows that and does not expect me to actually return.
