I tell all my friends to never use Verizon

I cancelled my FIOS service with Verizon because of poor customer service when i cancelled my cable. They billed me for $56 when I cancelled. I thought I owed much less. I contacted customer service multiple times to get a copy of the final bill to verify the accuracy of the charge. All they would ever send is a bill that said I owed $56, with no details. Then their customer service agent told me they no longer had a record of my account. Only later did I find that they didn't have a record of my account because they had sent it to their collections department. Their collection department wanted to extort extra money out of me beyond the $56. So I called customer service to complain and the agent said I could pay them the $56 over the phone and be done. So I did. Now I find that Verizon is hitting my credit report for a $20 additional charge. I tell all my friends to never use Verizon.
