Don't leave the store...

So, I stopped into my local store recently to upgrade my phone and switch from a contract to Edge... If I didn't need to change the contract I would never have gone in, but hey, can't be that bad, and maybe I can leave with a phone.

Well, after. Ring 'greeted', I was told it would be a 30 minute wait. My wife said "well go next door and get a cup of coffee", to which the rep said "NO.... If you leave, I have to take you off of the list"... Seriously? I'll be gone 5 minutes, and if I'm not here just go to the next guest... But my wife rolled over and decided to stay. I asked about getting an appointment, but the rep said we couldn't. I asked if I wanted to get an appointment how one would do that, and the rep exasperatedly walk to the desk phone, at which point I had to stop him and ask, "no, generally... Do I call the store, or is there a 800 number?" More controversy.... Anyway, again my wife said we'd just wait.

Well, an hour later we finally change the plan and find out there's no iPhone in the store. Why, oh why, would they not mention that when I checked in and told them I wanted to upgrade? Sure, the phone reps suck too, but at least there a little quicker...
