Verizon duped my son

He went to upgrade his phone and they told him that because it was in the family account he could not get the free upgrade he was due, that if he bought a new phone they could just transfer it over no charge so long as it was done within 30 days. We did all of that and then a bill for $250 came in a month later. They won't address it, says he signed a contract. Bunch of assholes.

If it doesn't sound right, do not do it...I made that mistake once. Never again. They hate to see me come in the store sometimes because I love to read, so I will sit at one of their new fancy couches & read out the entire contract. I have highlighters in my purse all the time (again, I like to read, so I highlight points in my books). If I do not understand it, I highlight the portion & ask them about it or I will circle it with my pen. Our local Verizon store knows that I purchase a lot of stuff from them BUT I won't leave the store unless I read. It doesn't help that my friends dad is a lawyer, so if my friend is with me, she calls up her dad & tell him, I have a question or concern. You should see the looks on their faces...I love it!! I have no remorse for doing it because they would just allow me to walk out if I wasn't the way I was. I am one of the few that will sit down and READ my contract, front and back!!

finally, someone with common sense. I know it's a royal pain in the ass to have to read all of that bs but it's what you have to do and more power to you. I would love to see the look on their face when you ask them questions that you know they can't answer. Keep up the good fight.

Thanks, I will. As a result, I've had only minor problems with Verizon. But as it pertains to my bill and contract, they can't tell me all that extra gibberish they tell others. I read the contract. As a matter of fact, I bought a new phone 4 days ago. I had to agree to a new 2 year contract. She wanted me to accept the terms over the phone. HA! I cancelled the order & went and got the phone from a local store for the same price and read the contract. Took me an hour, but I had nothing to do and I knew it would take me long...If anything is wrong with my bill, trust & believe, it will be my fault. I won't dare give Verizon that much power over me.
