How to hold Verizon accountable?

We all hate Verizon, but how do you hold them accountable for their criminal actions? Verizon is the devil, slippery and slimy and all who work for them reflect this. I've been with Verizon 15 years and have had innumerable bad experiences with them.

Today's mini experience is standard procedure for their customer representatives. Here it is; 30 days ago I was told that I'd receive a $15 discount on my cell phone line for xxx reason. Now 30 days later the bill came in and it did not have the $15 deducted from it. So I called (1 hour+) and was told by the service rep and then the supervisor that they don't know if or why I was told that because I don't have any discounts applied to my account and none can be provided. Thus the outcome is I did not receive a $15 discount.

So why do Verizon reps lie? And HOW DO WE HOLD VERIZON REPS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR WORDS AND ACTIONS? Are these people even human? (As soon as another service provider becomes available in my area I will abandon Verizon Hell).

Get it all in writing. They legally have to honor it, even if the rep lied or was just wrong. Not always the salesperson's fault as the systems are pieces of shit and give wrong information. I used to work for the home side and can't tell you the amount of times the system would give different answered but if a customer had it in writing, we honored it regardless of how wrong it might have been. Don't get me wrong, there are some real shitty reps. Especially in the stores as they work mostly on commission but some reps are decent but Verizon's computers and OS are giant shitbags. Get it in writing everytime. Good luck.
