Phone Number Porting Nightmare

Verizon FiOS was supposed to port my home phone number from another carrier when I moved recently. I did everything that said or sent me. After waiting over a week for the process to occur, I found out it was off. I re-set the process to happen again. Yesterday, the Verizon agent said it was on track. Today, another Verizon representative said it was not going to happen. Verizon has blamed me, disconnected me from customer service, closed chats and refuses to offer anything as compensation. As my account with the previous carrier is now closed, there is no way to get my original home phone number. Even before I received any phone, tv or internet, it is my opinion that VERIZON SUCKS.
