You call this service?

We just moved into our new house, and upon request for Verizon Fios (we had good experiences with it before) we were cheerfully informed this was not possible due to the unfortunate fact that our ENTIRE CITY has no fiber optic cables. The said we had to get DSL over the phone lines.

Whatever, we thought at the time. "It'll be fine." We thought, still oblivious to the horrors ahead.

We requested our previous phone number to avoid confusion. We were told sure, that will be fine!
Well, it wasn't. Verizon gave us the wrong number, and after an hour on the phone floating between departments the finally provided us with the lame excuse that due to an account error that it was in fact NOT possible to give us the same number.

Needless to say we were angry. We told them they promised us our old phone #, and if we didn't get it we would leave. 3 phone numbers later, and hours of haggling later we still didn't have it and settled with a similar #. And that was just the start.

After another stupid mistake with the phone jacks, and hassling over where to place the router, we finally had our service set up.

Well I'll tell you now, they're definition of 'service' must be pretty loose. Our network cuts out AT LEAST 3 times a day, upon which we must reset the router. Only to have the whole thing repeat 3 hours later! UNBELIEVABLE!

This abysmal excuse for 'service' that we're being "provided" is literally frustration being branded, sold, and given to us with a guarantee!

AHHHHHHHHHHH! It happened again!!!!!

I am still in disbelief that people use Verizon Fios. I understand that some people live in areas where this is the only service they can get...but geez by golly...I would rather get a Roku device and watch Netflix and Hulu than to ever get Fios...

Sorry you are going through this...

You'd still need the Fios for the internet connection, no?
