Useless Advice & Wasted Time

Today I called my local Verizon store to see if they could change my phone # over to a # I was using w/ Tracfone. After explaining what I wanted several times, the representative finally told me that they'd be able to provide that service if I came into the store. So I drove 20 minutes to get there, explained what I wanted again, sat down w/ him for another 15 minutes, then was told that he couldn't do that in the store, but I should call the 611 #. So that was a serious waste of time that could have easily been avoided. I called the 611 # and was told that I'd need to deactivate my Tracfone account prior to being able to use that # on my Verizon phone. So I did that & called 611 back. Five minutes into the next conversation I'm now told that I'll need to go through an automated phone line to change my #, during which the automated process informs me that I should NOT deactivate my original account prior to switching it to Verizon. Too late, I'd already done it per the advice of the uninformed rep from my first call. It's now pending on whether or not my phone # will actually be switched, and I've wasted the greater part of my afternoon on this nonsense. I'm spreading the word to AVOID Verizon, as the reps have no idea what they're talking about and give out useless advice to the clients.

Always go with an MVNO. You can use verizon network just don't go though them to get it. You may want to check other networks in your area. As with most verizon claims there wireless network is not the best any any way. I have much better coverage all around with sprint and much faster service with t-mobile. You should look in to project FI with google as it uses both sprint and t-mobile towers. Of course there are several MVNOs mainly on sprint that may suit you better.
