Verizon Employees Suck

Verizon sucks, and if you work for them, you probably suck too. How could you not suck? Look at the postings here. If you can read these postings and still get up in the morning and work for these assholes, then you must be an asshole too. Now, if you are working for Verizon and are currently searching for another job, then you might be a temporary asshole. But, probably not. You probably suck. Its NOT ok to be an asshole for money. Its Not ok to behave like a fuckin jerk off just because everyone else that you work behaves like one. If you behave like one of these assholes, then YOU are one too. So, Verizon employees: quit, or be a fuckin asshole by default. And if you decide to be a fuckin asshole, and someone walks into your Verizon outlet with an automatic weapon, you have NO right to complain. Because thats what you and ALL the fuckin assholes like you deserve.

I like it. think they have an asshole training program when they train the new people? slide show and role playing on ways to really be an ASShole? do you get a bonus for being the biggest asshole? would you get fired for not being an asshole? so many question so little time.

Speaking as a former VZW employee...

While I certainly understand where you are coming from, you don't understand how bad it is in that place. We lowly customer service reps have little to no control over resolving your issues. If we try to help you, it gets denied, we have to call you back and tell you its been denied, we won't have a reason because we were not given one by our sup. So then we are bigger assholes right? Those of us to get edgy and 'rude'. Tell you what, try a job, where for 10 hours a day, averaging about 80-120 calls per day, each and every one is someone screaming in your ear, calling you a fag, an asshole, random racial slur, or threatening your life, you try to keep your cool.

As far as your suggestion to either quit and do what? Yes, I hear the breakfast bar at the local homeless shelter is lovely. In case you haven't noticed, we are not exactly in a time of massive hiring.

I am not trying to tell you, that you have been mistreated, or that your claims of abuse are flawed. But I am simply saying that you are directing your anger in the wrong direction. Most of us bottom line employees genuinely want to help. Most of us attempt to pull strings(usually resulting in being written up) to help, but we get out hands tied every step from our direct supervisors all the way up to the top.

My personal story just as an example. I once had a elderly woman call. She was in tears. She did not understand why her bill was high and it was difficult as she was on a fixed income. And she did not understand any of the bill. This was back when I was first starting and under the impression the proper customer service was what we were aiming for.

I took an hour to go over her bill, line by line and explain everything. I explained what the overages were, and how to avoid them. I also credited what I could(50 dollars of the 100 that was overages, anything more would be denied). The woman seemed happy and even left a glowing customer review of my performance. So what was the result? A failed performance review. Among other things, we are expected to get you off the phone, preferably in under 90 seconds, but certainly no longer than 5 minutes or so. So an hour long call, to genuinely help was naturally unacceptable.

anyone who speaks on behalf of a company issuing promises of this happening or that not happening again OUGHT BE BINDING as it is for "agents of a company". Further this law will require any agreements made by phone reps generate a PAPER letter to you (including all deals, abrogations, concessions, refunds, upgrades, on site service, etc)

I RECORD all conversations with verzion AND follow up EVERY conversation with a paper letter summarizing promised actions.

I like to give notice that I too am recording the call during their announcement of call recording.


With a follow up letter for every converstation and a recording of every conversation I have it locked down tight. Now I even record conversations with field managers or agents without their consent to cover all my bases.

With ViaTalk prefixing the verizon contact number with *99 automatically records the call

so for fios "service"

If you don't subscribve to viatalk, a voip (internet phone) service, you can record calls free with a headset, a SIP client (software) capable of recording, and place your call through a free toll free SIP gateway

Small claims court grants some leeway with recorded conversations and does not look kindly on liars.

To anyone who attacks this man and says that being too hard on customer reps: You're aiding terrorists. Or are the terrorists not guilty because they are misinformed and need a purpose(or money)? They were told to be terrorists? If i work for a company that is big, faceless and horrible and i cant change it... i stop working for that company. You're only enabling a company to be a monster because you "need" money. The money will do you no good when those faceless companies drive everyone crazy like this poster. Try to buy his opinion... i bet you cant. He hates Verizon that much and you'd have to bet its not for no reason. LISTEN

the vz former employee said it well! Thats pretty much how it is. I am an employee for 25 yrs. People always say well just go and get another job! Really! With unemployemt the way it is wed be lucky to find work at Walmart for min wage..woohoo lets pay our mortgage with that pay or our rent or other bills...The person using all the foul language thats pretty much what i listen to on a daily basis I do directory assistance and i have to be on and off the line with a customer in 25 seconds or less or i will be written up or fired. When there is no listing for what your asking for how is that my fault or the companies? some peple dont list as well as some business plus throw in the internet now some business only list on the internet and not with the phone companies..throw in cable companies are now doing phone service as well and 9 times out of 10 we dont have those numbers as the cable companies dont want to pay verizon to list those numbers...so now im called a faggot or cunt or bitch or whore just to name a few. If i had your listing why wouldnt i just give it to you and send you on your way without all the strife! I wonder do these same people talk to thier doctors office this way when they call them too? Above 1st posting is one of my typical customers.....

I have always had great customer service when I call in. My complaint is with the store clerks. They know absolutely nothing about phones, features, etc... You could take a random person off the street and get the same level of service.
Not that they are bad or rude people... just totally oblivious to any form of tech.

As a store manager, my employees know their stuff well, as do i. Features, specs,etc. The issue arises when you come in, angry from whatever happened, and calling in, or stopping somewhere else, and immediately start yelling and swearing. I have never in life seen you until today, yet you think, by acting outrageous, that I will give you what you want?

I give people credits, early upgrades, etc when I feel it is appropriate. But the one common thread to every exception is that you have a genuine issue that we can help resolve, and you are being cool about it. If you yell, the answer is no. That simple. Hate the company all you want, but if you act like an ass, don't expect to be given anything but the way out the door.

Also, we employees all have families, and goals, many of us are finishing or have post secondary degrees (paid for by the company). So don't insinuate that we are all dumb because you broke your phone, have no insurance, and that is now my fault. If you hate the company, please,please go get a different carrier. It's your choice. But remember that those are people you're dealing with, who due to needing a job, can't respond in kind when you're being an asshole. I wonder how you would take it if I walked into your job, screaming and swearing at you. Think about it, if your narcissistic mind can think beyond your own primal instincts and needs.
