DSL works, Landline doesn't--Neither does Verizon site..

Presented with the above odd problem, I scheduled repair service online and everything seemed to proceed normally. The repair tech arrived as scheduled, was here for 1.5 hours but couldn't fix the problem which he determined was outside my home. The problem was that the pole was in a neighbor's locked backyard and the tech couldn't safely access the pole from the adjacent yard. Apparently, the pole had been 'condemned' (by Verizon, I guess) so a second pole had been placed next to the original, but all of the wiring remains on the condemned pole. The tech tried to reach from the newer pole but was unable to do so safely. He said that he was returning the repair request and his super would have to do something.
That was a week ago and I've heard nothing since. I went online yesterday (Sunday) and did one of those chats with either a person, or a robot, IDK, and a repair appointment was scheduled for this morning. Supposedly, but they never sent a verifying email. And that POS website makes it damn near impossible to verify a repair ticket unless you're a FIOS customer which I ain't...thank you Boston! They better not try to charge me for the last 12 days (and counting...) since the problem is entirely theirs! Have to admit, though, I've enjoyed the peace and quiet from no phone calls...as long as the DSL continues to work!!!
