Verizon sales and customer service is 100% incompetent

I was signed up for a Fios package by a Verizon door-door salesman who offered to give me the same thing I was getting from Comcast, but for substantially less money. The salesman included in the contract that I would have a static IP address since that is what I was getting from the cable company. When I questioned whether they could really provide that service as part of the package I was signing up for, he contacted three different supervisors in the Verizon office who assured me that they would provide me with a static IP for the price of the contract.

When it came time for the install, I was told that
the salesman made a mistake and that if I wanted a static IP, I would need to sign up for a business account. I was also told that Verizon would not install both business and residential service at the same address. I therefore had to exercise my 30 day cancellation clause in the contract. To do so required that I stay on the phone, on hold, for 3.5 hours while Verizon customer serviced bounced me around from office to office. This caused me to exhaust my cell phone minutes, also a Verizon service, however neither Verizon Wireless nor Verizon Fios would make good for the cell phone overage.

I would not recommend Verizon Fios to anyone. They are totally out of touch with good customer service, and their sales staff is completely incompetent and poorly trained.
