Charged for HBO when I didn't order it

I had called Verizon with a complaint, and to placate me the service rep asked if i'd like a free month of HBO. I agreed, but then got charged for HBO the next month because i "hadn't cancelled it." even though I didn't order it, by agreeing to a free month, it was assumed (by verizon) that I was ordering it. since I didn't call and cancel (which they didn't inform me), I was charged. when I called and complained, they were glad to disconnect HBO, but not remove any charges. Oh, did i mention that I was transfered to 4 different service reps and that i spent over an hour on the phone?
