FIOS

Do not purchase the FIOS bundles. They will not give you any thing in writing until after every thing is installed. Then it is too late, you are stuck with whatever they want to charge. You can call and speak to the lowest employee to the CEO and ask for something in writing and you will not get it. Be very very careful in dealing with this. I will not take it even tho it is 1/2 installed in here. I asked and asked for every thing to be put in writing as a contract should be. They will not do it. They just do not respond when you ask for that. This is why so many people are charged for things they never expected. Verizon can add any thing they want to the bill AFTER you let them install it and you have no proof with out something in writing. That you will not get from them.

your whole statment is completely untrue, I install fios and daily i have customers present me with printed emails stating exactly what they ordered and exactly how much it will cost

well i just went thru this and i am still waiting for a contact in writing BEFORE installation regarting the router, remote, the boxes, etc. they will not give one. don't tell me it is untrue. i have all the letters right here on the computer. i have asked and asked and no one will write up any thing. i have a letter regarding the cost of the package and the cost of the set top box and that is it. i want to know who is responsible if the retote, routes, etc stops working and no one will answer except to say "don't worry about it". that is NOT an answer. so, don't you YOU tell ME.

LOL...are you by any chance the tech that started installing mine and said he would be back tomorrow? That was a week ago and no one saw him since. It was installed wrong and that was the reason it shorted out all my phones and it took the police to get a repair man here today. I have not had my phones since the 23th of june.

nope that deffinately wasnt me, my work is better than any youve ever recieved from any company,, i never ask the customers how they get the e-mail, i just know that a lot off people present them to me when i arrive at the house. so when you state that verizon wont give anything in writting, i know that to be untrue. dont know what the problem is and why they cant do it for you,,, im just simple stating that i see them all the time

the remote, sset top box and router are all property of verizon, and if anything shoud go wrong with them , verizon is responsible to replace

It may be true that you see that and some people get them but that is not the case for everyone. Maybe you are in a different state than me and things are done different. Before i buy any thing i want to know what is under warranty and what is not. No way will any one here commit to answering that. "Don't worry about it", is not an answer. I asked about service calls and the answer was "don't worry about it". Well, these are thing i have a right to know before i buy. I see nothing wrong with that. It saves time and problems on both ends. What you see every day is not what every one else gets. I do not think i am being unreasonable in wanting to know all the facts before i agree to something for a year or more.

i dont think you are being unreasonable at all, in fact your being nothing but smart, it is a buyer beware world out there and youve got to cover your butt. all i was stating is that i see people with that info on paper when i arrive, ,, not all,, just some people its the first thing they give to me when i walk through the door

NO one would give me the answer you just did. All employees are not the same and all employees are not all that caring. A written contact is necessary for both sides. It saves so much time and trouble. If i had gotten one i would have taken the promotion. Without one i feel they are hiding something. It does not make verizon look good and this is what happened to me so please don't say it is untrue. It is.

well installed properly its a realy great product. i think the only drawback is that there are no analog channels, there all digital,,,which means you will need some form of box at each set. for t he guy with only 2 tv's its not a big deal, but for the guy who has 5 or 6 tv's, any savings you would have gotten is erased because you need all the boxes. anyway, i tell people "you gotta do whats best for you and your family" so best of luck with whatever decision you make

Comcast. The guy i originally talked to about the promotion told me you only needed one box for each room. That was completely wrong. He also told me this was completely wireless. That was wrong. This is when i really started asking questions and this is when they would not answer any thing. Maybe up north here, they do not know.

ya, you will need a box at each tv, the have digital converters that cost 3.99 that will get all the digital (for the tv in the garage or back porch or something) as far as wireless is concerned they provide the subsciber with a wireless router( not just a modemn, so u dont have to go buy your own for the laptop, wii,ps3, etc.)but the set top boxes will need a coaxl cable( hard wired) ussually all the existing cables in the persons home are fine to re-use unless their old rf59 cables( radio shack specials) and not rg6

Thanks. This has been an on going problem for weeks now and since they would not give me answers or put any thing in writing and since no one has been back since friday, I cancelled every thing yesterday. I have not been able to get into my bedroom since last Friday and every thing is piled up on my bed and i have not even been able to sleep in that. I am seriously ill and i need my bed and i need my phone. No one would do any thing about the phone because they had it mixed up with the FIOS order. No matter how many times i gave them my account number all i got was "we can not repair that phone as it is not on the order"....lol. Today i had to end up getting the police to deal with virizon to get my phone repaired. It was due to the battery they installed for FIOS. It has just been a total disaster. If just one person had listened it could all have been avoided. So, now i have all the wiring, boxes, etc installed but that is it and no one will even come out and remove them because now they can not find any order. It is getting worse each day and there is no one to call. The supervisor of FIOS left me his card and said to call with any problem. I called him the next day and he was on vacation and left an emergency number. I called there and that guy was on vacation and left the original number i had to call....lol. So i just gave up all hope. I have no idea how i am going to get every thing out of here.

sorry to hear all that,, i know these are just words but,,,if i had done your install you would not have had any of those problems. what i would do if i were you is call the PUC.(public utility comission). its a listed number. the're a sub of the FCC. their job is to regulate communication companies. they levee large fines if they get so many calls of complaints.(for different things, damage to property, missed commitment times). in other words communication companies will jump fast if they get a call from the PUC. I once used it on the power co.they were giving me the run around for 4 months. i made the call. 2 days later everything was straightned out. either that or call the president of new england's office. his office is located right there in boston. let him know them know whats taking place 5 management lvls below him. stop calling the buisness office , its obviously time for more than that. best of luck

I am way ahead of you. I have called the board of utilities. Up here they only give you a hot line number for verizon which is answered by.....VERIZON. In fact one girl on there told me , "you just talked to me". As for FCC, i called and wrote them and have the letters here. They no longer do any thing but refer you to the board of utilities. I have written the better business bureau, the attorney general, our senator, and a few more places that i can't even remember. I have not slept for days now and i am on the phone (when it works now and then) and the computer sending out letters for 10 hours a day every day since friday. I could never go thru this again. I have talked and wrote with every one from the lowest to the ceo of verizon and and no one knows any thing. of course the ceo does not answer but there is a stacey joseph that handles his e-mails and calls. she is the worse liar out of all of them. She has promised for a week to put every thing in writing and instead all she does is write and tell me she will send someone out to do the install. She knows i won't go thru with that until i have something in writing. This if beyond belift. Since i signed up for the FIOS, verizon has switched my account to automatic payments. Good thing i caught that. I wrote and told them NO WAY. They said they would cancel it but they are not allowed to give a confirmation number or an e-mail. Since than i have gotten 3 letters, congradulating me me for signing up for automatic payments. I removed my account from there but i know they still have all the info. I just too sick to deal with all this and it is getting worse every day.

is it any wonder that verizon is falling faster than celebrities? they have terrible management and union members who shall we say kiss the companys corn hole daily. get rid of verizon as fast as u can unless u want hassles.

It has sure been a nightmare and it is far from over. They will not come and take any of the stuff out of here. They have taken over my entire bedroom as that is where they installed all the boxes as I am in an apartment. they took one of my electrical outlets and my phone jack in there. The promotion said "we do not leave until every thing is done and the customer undersands and can work every thing"......lol. The guy left and said see you in the morning and that was it. One night the ceo's office called and said the guy would be at my place in 1/2 hour. He never made it that time either. I just can not believe this. I thought i was over reacting until i started reading things on here. They must have paid a lot of people off because i remember back when the board of utilities and the fcc and other places would jump right in on things like this. They don't do that here in NJ any more. They are now here to protect places like verizon.

u must call your senators and congressmen to complain about the lack of service that verizon provides. if the electric company did this, hell would be paid. verizon does not care about the customer or employee from what i read on the previous blogs. can call the fcc also. verizon gets fined every year by the fcc for misssing objectives. go to verizonpathetic.com and see the law suits that verizon faces every year.

I have written to our senator and congressman. I have not gotten an answer yet but it has only been a week since i did that. I sent every thing to the attorney general. That will take time also i realize. As for the FCC, they have told me 3 times, and i have the letters on the computer, that i must call the bord of utilities. They say they do not handle things like verizon. That is funny because a few years ago when i had someone use my SS# to get a phone, the fcc stepped right in and explained to me that they handle anything and everything with telecommunications. That is why i am thinking verizon has a long arm with money in the out stretched hand. That is just my opion, i have no proof. I was just amazed that the fcc did not want to even heard any thing. but, that seems to be the way of the world today. As for the board of utilities it is the same thing. they used to be good and very fast with problems like this. Now they have a "HOTLINE" set up for verizon. However, when i called it like they told me to do, it was answered by verizon employees. So, that did not get me any place but back to where i came from before calling the board of utilities. I am still wondering why the board would have a I have not yet heard from the BBB yet but that also takes time. The fact that i had to get the police to contact verizon to fix my phone should be helpful along the way. There is a police report on that. I am sure i have a long fight ahead of me but i will not drop it. With my health it does take it's toll on me but sitting here letting them get away with it would be worse. Verizon is pure 100% evil. Like they say, the bigger they are the harder they harder they fall so verizon should make a real big fast crash. I am so glad i found this sight. It keeps me from going crazy just to know i am not alone and the only one that went thru this. Otherwise, i would be thinking there was something wrong with me.

I am the person that started this post and i am also the one the put up the "suggestion for handleing verizon". I really wish people would send a letter to the tv station and request having ivan back on to answer questions from the people since he said he planned on being the biggest and best. The last thing someone like ivan wants is bad publicity. The tv shows love any thing that will bring in a good rating, even if they are running down their best friend. The show may never materilize BUT, i know word would get back to ivan that the public is asking for this. That is enough to upset him at least. If any one does write to charlie rose and his address is in my other post, you can even suggest that they have ivan back and have a "call in" where the public can ask question. No matter what the out come, it is going to get a message thru to ivan that WE had enough. TV shows and newspapers are the best way to get to people like ivan. I did send him these 2 sites and suggest he sit and read them while he is waiting for his paycheck. Verizon has got to be stopped.

If you are in the Boston area try calling channel 7 TV news. They have an investigative reporter Hank Phillipe Ryan she will look into it AND will report it on TV for all to see. Good luck and I'll be watching the news.
