On-Star SCAM

I bought a new Chevy Impala in October 2007, I heard you could connect your verizon phone to the onstar on a family share plan. I thought it would be useful, but fournd the onstar phone to be not so useful so I tried to cancel the service. Keyword here is "tried". It was only $10 per month but I didn't use it. I called Verizon to cancel, they put me through 3 different reps before transferring me to an Onstar specialist who assured me the plan was cancelled and I would not be billed again.

3 months later I was still being billed the $10 a month so I called Verizon again. This time I was transferred to 3 or 4 different people, the last of which said he needed to hear from an Onstar specialist that I did in fact cancel the account before he could remove it from my bill. He kept me on hold for 1 hour 30 minutes before I said screw it and hung up. He would check in with me every 10 minutes to see if I was still holding, saying that he was on hold with Onstar.

In May of last year I tried again to cancel, went through the same process, spent 3 hours on the phone with no resolution, so I hung up. Again.

In September of 2008 I got my new wife on a share plan and tried again to cancel this onstar nightmare, again, could not be done.

Today, July 2009, I called Verizon to change our plan because we don't use as many minutes anymore since we are on a share plan, was told I needed clear it with an Onstar specialist first because of that plan. W T F!!!!! I explained to this lady what I had gone through for the past year and a half and she told me according to her records I had activated my Onstar plan in May of 2008. W T F!??!??! I said no, I tried to cancel it for the 3rd time in May of 2008. She said "No, our representative Charity put her notes in here that you called to activate it and that she explained everything to you and you hung up satisfied." WTF???? I said whatever, just get it off my bill now, please. They must have changed things because this time she did it, or supposedly did it, and credited my account for $90 because she could see that I tried to cancel onstar in September 2008. Whatever, I'm just glad it's off and I got some kind of credit from these crooks.

As soon as my contract expires I'm leaving these criminals and going with someone else.
