A death in the family

My husband and I have had Verizon Wireless and Verizon Fios for some years now. He dealt with this ridiculous company while I handled other family matters. He passed away in December and I have spent countless hours since then on the phone and online with Verizon. You would think that changing accounts to my name and updating login, password, and payment would be relatively simple for an international communications company. But Verizon can't seem to tie its shoelaces.

We had a similarly awful experience when he was still alive. We had moved last summer to a more accessible home because he had developed mobility issues. Being more or less homebound, having internet, TV and phone service was particularly important for him. It took weeks to get the attention of anyone at Verizon to get things hooked up -- not acceptable for a disabled person.
